Have you ever heard about ear coning? Well it is time to learn more about it, because it can help you. Now with the summer here and a lot of people traveling, ear infections and discomfort in the ears are very common. We don’t always want to rush to the doctor to have syringing done, especially little ones. Ear coning is a much more relaxing and calming treatment, which even the little ones like.

Ear coning is not a new alternative therapy. Dating back to the year 2500B.C there is evidence showing that people used and were familiar with the practice of ear candling. The technique was used by the ancient Atlanteans, Egyptians, Mayans and Tibetans to cleanse the spiritual and physical body.

The candles are hollow and made from beeswax and unbleached cotton.
The one end of the candle is placed in the ear and the other end is lit and slowly starts to burn. It will burn approximately 10 minutes in each ear. The ear candle by its shape, design and length – draws earwax and fungus deposits from inside the ear canal.

As the ear candling session progresses, extracted earwax and fungus will be accumulated and collected in the bottom part of the cone. After the cone has burned down and been extinguished, the therapist will cut open the remnants and show you the contents of the ear. Most people cannot believe what has been collected there! However, it is stated that 60% is from the ear and the balance comes from the cone. Only you can tell the difference in how you feel.

Ear coning is not painful at all, but rather relaxing. You might hear some crackling and popping and feel a warm sensation, but that is about it.
2 Drops of natural anti-bacterial eardrops are placed in the ear with a piece of cotton wool, to protect the ears.

Ear coning is done in 3 sessions, a week apart and after that you can do it every 6 months.
